Non-bailable warrants issued against 24 in Sambhal violence

A local court in Sambhal has issued non-bailable warrants (NBWs) against 24 absconding accused linked to large-scale violence during a court-ordered survey of the Shahi Jama Masjid in the Uttar Pradesh town on November 24 last year, a senior police officer said on Friday.
LUCKNOW:
"We had initially applied for NBWs against 91 accused identified in 12 different cases related to the November 24, 2024 violence, registered with the Sambhal and Naksha police stations. However, 12 of them were arrested before the warrant was procured," additional superintendent of police (ASP), Sambhal North, Shrish Chandra told HT.
