A century was missing but six half-centuries in the innings mirrored consistent batting.
Resuming on 306/4, Delhi could add only 124 runs while Himachal pacers Vaibhav Arora (4/78) and Arpit Guleria (4/106) shared the last six wickets on the second day. Himachal opener Sidhant Purohit hit 70 after giving his team a solid start, but seasoned Delhi pacer Navdeep Saini (2/20) dismissed him late in the day. Himachal were 165/3 at stumps.
Ajinkya Rahane struck 159 as Mumbai reached 406/8 at close against Chhattisgarh, their first innings still unfinished after a weather-hit second day at home. Rahane, who had retired hurt on 118 late on Saturday, returned to give the record Ranji champions late impetus.
