The ongoing efforts to conserve wetlands across the country has shown steady progress with figures provided by the Centre to the Supreme Court on Tuesday indicating that about 77% of 231,195 wetlands have been mapped so far by states and union territories based on ground truthing while the exercise of demarcating their
boundaries is yet to reach the halfway mark.
