LSG take on GT today: Time for Pant to be back among runs

After losing to Punjab Kings in their opening home game by eight wickets on the red-soil surface, LSG chose to shift the track to the black-soil, and it paid rich dividends as Rishabh Pant-led side defeated five-time champions Mumbai Indians by 12 runs.

Their winning streak continued even on the black-soil surface at the Eden Gardens when LSG managed to snatch a thrilling four-run win over former champions and hosts Kolkata Knight Riders, and now they would be aiming for yet another win on a similar track on the home turf.

Though the curators under the guidance of Sanjeev Agarwal seemed preparing both the black-soil and mixed-soil pitches for the back-to-back matches in two days time, LSG's three-hour training on the black-soil turf on Friday afternoon was enough to indicate that the team was planning to take the home advantage full throttle.
