UP CM issues orders to set up detention centres for infiltrators

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has directed all district magistrates to launch a “swift and uncompromising” campaign against illegal immigrants, and ordered the establishment of temporary detention facilities in every district, according to a press release shared by the state media cell on Saturday.
Calling law and order, national security, and social harmony the “topmost priorities” of his government, the chief minister said that no unlawful presence would be allowed to take root in Uttar Pradesh.
“The chief minister has directed that each district administration ensure the identification of illegal immigrants living in their area and initiate action as per the rules,” the statement said.
