Preserve CCTV from home of 'Lady Don', court tells police

A Delhi court on Monday directed police to preserve CCTV footage from outside the residence of Zikra—dubbed "Lady Don"—who is accused of masterminding the murder of a 17-year-old boy in Seelampur.

NEW DELHI: The court also remanded her to 14 days' judicial custody, until May 5.

The directive came after Zikra's lawyer argued that footage from her landlord's CCTV cameras could help prove her innocence.

The court agreed, stating the goal of any investigation must be to collect the "best possible evidence" and not merely incriminating material.

"The IO is directed to preserve and produce the footages... since the same are sought to prove the innocence of the accused," judicial magistrate (first class) Anmol Nohria wrote in the order.
