Delhi, Hry govts, Centre to fast-track second RRTS line

The Delhi administration, along with the Haryana and the central governments, has started the process of fast-tracking the second Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) corridor connecting Delhi to Panipat and Karnal, aiming to enhance connectivity between the two states, officials said.

With the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) now in power in Delhi and all three other NCR states — Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan — the project is expected to gain momentum.
The BJP's manifesto for Delhi pledged to expedite both planned RRTS corridors in Phase 1, linking Delhi to Gurugram-Alwar and Panipat-Karnal. Additionally, the Union ministry of commerce has reviewed the Delhi-Panipat-Karnal line as one of four projects under the PM Gati Shakti scheme.
