Amid rumblings in INDIA, UBT to go it alone in civic polls

The Shiv Sena (UBT) on Saturday reiterated that the onus was on the Congress to "save" the INDIA bloc as party MP Sanjay Raut said that they will contest the upcoming local body polls across the state on their own.
MUMBAI:
Raut said the decision to go solo in the municipal polls was taken to test the party's strength at the grassroots level. The Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (SP), partners in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) along with Shiv Sena UBT, downplayed the development.
"In the alliance, the workers do not get a chance to fight in the Lok Sabha and the Legislative Assembly. This is affecting the party, in fact, the growth of the party. We should fight in the municipal corporation, zilla parishad and nagar panchayat on our own and strengthen our party," Raut said.
