AAP Writes to ECI on Kejriwal Security; It's a Conspiracy: BJP

The tussle between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over removal of the Punjab Police protection for AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal continued for a second day, with Delhi and Punjab chief ministers writing to the Election Commission of India (ECI) seeking its restoration and alleging a "conspiracy" by the BJP to "hurt" Kejriwal, and the BJP terming them "pre-poll conspiracies".

Citing past "attacks" on Kejriwal by BJP functionaries, CM Atishi said the BJP's attempts to target Kejriwal have only deepened public support for the AAP chief. The BJP refuted the allegations and questioned why Kejriwal needed Z-plus security.

Kejriwal also made his opinion clear at a press conference, where he said in response to a question: "Removing my security is completely political. I feel there should be no politics on anyone's security."
