Samaira is the daughter, not Safira: Mandhira Kapur questions Sunjay's will

The dispute over late industrialist Sunjay Kapur's estate has escalated after his sister, Mandhira Kapur, publicly questioned the will submitted by his widow, Priya Sachdev Kapur. Sunjay, who was earlier married to actor Karisma Kapoor and shares two children with her, died of a heart attack in the UK on June 12, 2025, leaving behind a blended family now divided over inheritance.

Speaking on the InControversial Podcast, Mandhira alleged that Priya had “rewritten lineage” by listing her daughter, Safira, from a previous marriage to Vikram Chatwal, as Sunjay’s daughter in the will. "Samaira is the daughter, not Safira... her biological father is alive," she said, referring to Sunjay and Karisma’s elder child.
