Minor gang-raped by 4 in paddy field in Assam

A 15-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by four men in a paddy field in Assam’s Dhubri district, police said, adding that local residents carried out a massive protest on Wednesday demanding action against the absconding accused.
An investigator, requesting anonymity, said the incident took place on November 27 when one of the accused had lured the girl, a student of Class 8 and resident of the same locality as him, to a paddy field under the Bilasipara police station limits. “Three others joined the accused in the field and the four gang-raped the girl,” the officer said.
