The Public Works Department (PWD) of the Ghaziabad district has received an in-principle approval from the Uttar Pradesh government to widen a 1.3km stretch of the Grand Trunk (GT) Road, from Bhatia Morh flyover to Lal Kuan intersection on the National Highway (NH)-9, officials said.
The stretch is used daily by lakhs of motorists headed from Ghaziabad to NH-9 and further to Bulandshahr. It also connects the NH-9 to several industrial areas, such as South Side GT Road, Loha Mandi, and Kavi Nagar.
