The Accused Invited the Survivor for a Drive and Later Drove Her to His Apartment Where He Raped Her, Police Said in a Statement

- HT Correspondents

UDAIPUR/JAIPUR: A 30-year-old tourist from France was allegedly raped by a 28-year-old man after a party in Udaipur district of Rajasthan, police said on Tuesday, adding that efforts are underway to nab the absconding accused.

Police said that the incident took place on Monday night, hours after the woman met the accused, Pushparaj Ojha alias Siddharth — an employee at a Chittorgarh-based event management company, during a party at a cafe in Badgaon area of Udaipur.

"The accused took the woman to his rented accommodation in Sukher area from the party and raped her," Udaipur superintendent of police (SP) Yogesh Goyal said.
