Compromise on conduct of polls casts negative spell on democracy

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) lawmaker Manoj Kumar Jha raised concerns over the duplication of Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) numbers in the Rajya Sabha, saying it has cast a shadow on the conduct of the electoral exercise.

In an interview to Smriti Kak Ramachandran, the RJD leader elaborated on those concerns and his party's position on the voter I-card issue. Edited excerpts:
After the Congress and the Trinamool Congress, the RJD has also raised the issue of duplication of EPIC numbers. What are your concerns about the poll process?
