ARMY REVISES SOCIAL MEDIA USAGE GUIDELINES FOR PERSONNEL

The Indian Army has revised its guidelines for the usage of social media, allowing personnel to sign up on Instagram, but remain only as a “passive observer, without putting up posts or comments on the platform, people familiar with the matter said on Thursday.
The revision aims to augment the awareness level of Army personnel in the “digital age of information” and guard them against any potential or inadvertent leak of sensitive information, they said.
