'Aim now Viksit Dilli': CM sets tone for governance in Capital

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government is rooted in action — since coming to power in February, it has worked on and resolved issues related to air pollution, public healthcare, education, infrastructure development, and welfare works, chief minister Rekha Gupta said at an event held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, a day after her government completed 100 days of being in power.
NEW DELHI:
In a near hour-long conversation with actor Anupam Kher, the CM outlined initiatives in each sector. A day earlier, her cabinet had released a 22-page booklet outlining the government's achievements so far.
The event was attended by all six cabinet ministers, MPs, party legislators, and senior officials. It witnessed a significant turnout, with hundreds of people gathering for the event.
The CM listed what she called key accomplishments — such as efforts to clean the Yamuna and implement the long-delayed Ayushman Bharat scheme — while also announcing upcoming moves including an ordinance to regulate private school fees, monthly financial aid to women.
Gupta, only the fourth woman to become Delhi CM, also spoke about her personal journey, slammed the previous AAP government, and mentioned Operation Sindoor of the Indian armed forces.
"Ours is a 24x7 government, and our next goal is — Viksit Dilli," she said.

Viksit Bharat vision needs to have room for animals
When you navigate the distance between wood-panelled conference rooms in New Delhi to dusty tehsil offices, one lesson keeps returning to your desk, like a live file: India’s policies are at their best when they reflect our Constitution’s moral imagination, and not merely our administrative convenience.
