Netaji epitome of courage, loyalty, selfless service: Yogi

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday paid tribute to freedom fighter Subhas Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary, noting his role in energising India's independence movement through his leadership.

N: Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force Inspector Sunil Kumar succumbed to bullet wounds suffered in cross-firing between four dreaded members in Saharanpur's Kagga hamli district early on Thursday. He was cremated with full honours at his native Masuri in Meerut district on Friday.

According to reports, the remains of the inspector were brought to Meerut Police Lines at 11 am on Thursday from Panipat, Haryana, where he was undergoing treatment in a hospital.

Manjit Kumar lit the pyre in the presence of his family members, relatives, police officials and others.

Meerut zone additional director general, DK Thakur, Meerut range deputy inspector general Kalanidhi Naithani and Meerut senior superintendent of police Vipin Tada paid homage to him at the cremation site. Later, Meerut MP Rajendra Agarwal also visited his residence to express his grief to his family members.
