Body of a 40-year-old man was found near an under-construction bridge on the Ram Van Gaman Marg being built to connect Ayodhya to Chitrakoot, on Wednesday.

PRAYAGRAJ: An attempt was also made to hide the identity of the man by pouring some acidic chemical on the face. The deceased could not be identified and the police were probing the murder.

As per reports, Ram Van Gaman Marg passes through Palhana village under Sandipan Ghat police station area. A bridge is being constructed on the road in the village limits. On Wednesday morning, passersby noticed the body of a man lying near the bridge. The face was burnt by pouring some flammable substance on it.

On receiving information, CO (Chail) Awadhesh Vishwakarma and SHO of Sandipan Ghat police station Vijendra Singh reached the spot and after preliminary investigation sent the body for postmortem.
