This thriller flirts with mystery but doesn't know which way to go

A man is found dead with a strange symbol on his dismembered body in Charandaspur. More murders follow. It feels straight out of a Dan Brown novel, a mix of Angels and Demons and The Da Vinci Code. But this is actually the plot of Mandala Murders.

When a show begins on such a familiar note, you get a feeling that it might not offer anything new.

The story revolves around a cult-like group that was wiped out by locals in a small Indian town. At the center is a mysterious machine that grants wishes but demands a sacrifice in return. The show follows multiple characters, mainly Rea Thomas (Vaani Kapoor) and Vikram Singh (Vaibhav Raj Gupta), both dealing with painful pasts. Can they stop the dark plan unfolding, or is it already too late?
