S.I.R. WILL HAVE REPERCUSSIONS IN BENGAL: MAMATA
Hindustan Times Delhi
|October 10, 2025
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee slammed the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the centre on Thursday saying that the special intensive revision (SIR) could be rolled out in Bihar as it is a BJP-ruled state but warned of repercussions in Bengal if names of genuine voters were deleted during the electoral roll revision.
-
“Four (ECI) officials, in the name of a field survey, are threatening Booth Level Officers and asking them to prepare documents. It could be done in Bihar because there is a double-engine BJP government. But Bengal is different,” said Banerjee while addressing reporters at the state secretariat.
