The Commissionerate of Customs (Preventive) wing in Kerala on Tuesday conducted statewide raids, including at the homes of actors Prithviraj Sukumaran and Dulquer Salmaan, and seized at least 36 vehicles as part of its investigation into alleged illegal import of high-end cars into India from Bhutan, officials said.
The Customs sleuths conducted daylong raids at over 30 places in the districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrisur, Malappuram, and Kozhilode as part of their operation codenamed ‘Numkhor'’, which in Bhutanese means vehicle.
