India, UAE target $100 bn non-oil trade by 2030

India and the United Arab Emirates want to expand their non-oil and non-precious metals trade to $100 billion by 2030, an official statement said on Monday, citing bilateral meeting between Union commerce minister Piyush Goyal and UAE foreign trade minister Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, held on Friday.

‘After reviewing the recently signed free trade agreement (FTA) between the two countries, the UAE minister said in a post on X: “The #CEPA between the UAE and India plays a vital role in stimulating trade and investment, raising our non-oil trade to $37.6bn in HI 2025.” In another post, he said the two ministers discussed “continuing to elevate the prospects of bilateral cooperation in sectors of mutual interest” during his Mumbai visit.

“Our discussions focused on expanding bilateral trade and investment in key sectors such as infrastructure, energy and technology. We reaffirmed our shared commitment to deepening the India-UAE partnership and unlocking new avenues of growth together,” Goyal said in a post on X after Friday's meeting.
