Fugitive from Dubai ran Delhi theft ring
Hindustan Times Delhi
|October 20, 2025
Aamir Pasha, Sata not only runs the theft network but also acts as a conduit for pushing high-quality fake Indian currency notes (FICN) into India on behalf of Pakistan’s ISI
It began as a routine theft of a Kia Seltos in west Delhi's Nangloi. Fifteen months later, the Delhi Police have uncovered an audacious syndicate allegedly responsible for stealing up to 1,000 SUVs on the orders of a fugitive hiding in Dubai.
The Delhi Police crime branch has arrested 15 members of the alleged syndicate, which is helmed by 54-year-old Khwaja Shaik Hussain, alias Shakir Hussain aka Sata, from Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal. He reportedly fled to Dubai in 2020 using a fake passport.
The syndicate specialised in stealing “cars on demand,” particularly SUVs like Fortuner, Innova, Creta, and Seltos. Over five years, it has allegedly stolen 800-1,000 vehicles from Delhi-NCR, selling them across 10 states and along the Nepal border—all on Sata’s instructions. Following arrests between June 2024 and April 2025, at least 35 stolen cars have been recovered.
