Cops on the lookout for Khan
NEW DELHI: Delhi Police said Tuesday they are conducting raids to arrest Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan, a day after the Okhla legislator was accused of obstructing police work, helping a proclaimed offender flee, and attacking a police team in south-east Delhi’s Jamia Nagar.
Khan has been booked under sections 191 (rioting), 111 (organised crime), 190 (unlawful assembly), 221 (obstructing police work), 121 (1) and 132 (voluntarily causing hurt and assault to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 262 (b) (obstruction by person to lawful apprehension of another person) and 351 (3) (criminal intimidation) of the BNS.
Senior police officers said he is “on the run,” as he was not found at his residence on Monday and Tuesday, and his phone has been switched off.
