City boy clinches gold in U-17 karate tourney

LUDHIANA: Naettik Sachdeva, a Class X student of St Thomas Senior Secondary School here, has clinched a gold medal in the U-17 boys' 35kg kumite category at the 68th National School Games held in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Naettik, who has been training in karate for over a decade, attributes his success to years of dedicated practice under the guidance of his father, Gourav Sachdeva, who is a four-time national medalist and karate coach.
The 15-year-old's remarkable victory adds another achievement to his growing list of accomplishments in karate. Last year, he secured a bronze medal in the U-14 kumite event at the National School Games.
