After jitters, space docking back on track

The Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) successfully brought two experimental satellites within three metres of each other on Sunday, marking a significant milestone in the country's attempt to master autonomous orbital docking technology.
NEW DELHI:
The space agency said it conducted a "trial attempt" with its Space Docking Experiment (SPADEX) satellites, bringing them to within 15 metres initially, then closing to three metres, before moving them back to a safe distance.
The agency, in a post on X, said the actual docking would proceed after further analysis of the collected data and did not give a time frame.
The trial comes after two previously announced docking attempts, scheduled for January 7 and January 9, were not executed.
