Nitanshi Goel's parandi at the Cannes Film Festival paid tribute to Bollywood divas, reviving the trend of photo-frame jewellery
Having someone's face close to you, enclosed in a piece of jewellery is not a new trend. Remember those heart-shaped lockets our mums and grandmums had? What's new is that this trend got a stylish, modern makeover!
Take, for instance, actor Nitanshi Goel, whose hair accessory at the Cannes Film Festival paid a tribute to yesteryear Bollywood icons. The pearl parandi featured miniature photoframes of Madhubala, Nargis, Meena Kumari, Nutan, Waheeda Rehman, Asha Parekh, Vyjayanthimala, Hema Malini, Rekha, and Sridevi.
Model Ruchi Gujjar also tried the trend, albeit in a slightly more controversial manner. She made her Cannes debut with a statement necklace with pendants of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's face.
