The special investigation team (SIT) of the Andhra Pradesh police probing the ₹3,200-crore liquor case that allegedly took place during the previous YSR Congress Party rule, has issued lookout circulars (LOCs) to track the whereabouts of former IAS officer K Dhanunjay Reddy and two other accused in the case, people familiar with the matter said on Monday.

HYDERABAD:

As per the notices served to them on Saturday, the three accused were asked to appear for questioning at the SIT office under the Vijayawada Commissionerate at 10 am on Sunday.

Dhanunjay Reddy, who was the secretary to former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, and two other accused — officer on special duty (OSD) P Krishna Mohan Reddy and director of Bharati Cements Govindappa Balaji — failed to appear before the SIT on Sunday for questioning, the people said.

A SIT official privy to the development said that as the accused failed to get the anticipatory bail from the high court and Supreme Court in the case, they were apprehensive that they might be arrested after being grilled in the liquor case.

The most affecting moment in Haq for me was a voiceover: “Biwi ka asli matlab kya hai?” It’s a deceptively simple question that lingers, prompting us to rethink the everyday words we use so casually that, in our holy texts and legal system, might carry entirely different weights.
