NIA CHIEF VISITS PAHALGAM AS AGENCY PROBES TERROR ATTACK

National Investigation Agency chief Sadanand Date on Thursday visited Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam for a firsthand assessment of the site of the terrorist attack that killed at least 26 people on April 22, people familiar with the development said.

An IPS officer of 1990-batch from Maharashtra, Date, according to officers close to him, has an excellent understanding of investigating terrorism cases and that his inputs will be useful for the probe team. Date was among the first responders to the 26/11 Mumbai attackers and personally, along with his team, took on two terrorists.
