Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday asserted that the Congress will overthrow the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Assam after the assembly polls due next year and added that chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will be put in jail for corruption.

Gandhi, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and general secretary KC Venugopal were on aone-day visit to Assam to hold discussions with party leaders, office bearers, legislators and MPs ahead of the assembly polls scheduled in the early part of nextyear.
