Anti-corruption wing files a challan against 22 accused in a 2009 case
SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Saturday filed a chargesheet against 22 individuals, including National Conference (NC) MP from Srinagar Aga Ruhullah, for alleged fund bungling and tampering of revenue records in Budgam district, said officials.
However, a day after the development, Ruhullah on Sunday termed the move as 'politically motivated' and said it was done to 'silence him'.
The chargesheet was filed in the court of special judge, anti-corruption, Srinagar, in connection with a case registered in 2009 under the J&K Prevention of Corruption Act and sections of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC), against 22 accused, including the MP, two collectors of Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA), four other public servants (now retired) and 16 beneficiaries, at the ACB police station in Srinagar.
