Investigation launched into dumping of 'volcano' concrete

AN investigation has been launched into how a huge amount of concrete came to be dumped near a popular footpath last week.
Councillor Andy Kelly was conducting a litter pick in Newhey village, on the border between Rochdale and the Pennines, when he discovered what he described as a 'concrete volcano'.
Just near the entrance to a popular footpath off Huddersfield Road, leading to a network of reservoirs and the Piethorne Valley, is where Coun Kelly found the 20ft mound on dumped concrete.
The Milnrow and Newhey representative called the mess 'waste dumping!
