Residents' fears sparked as fires started close to homes

FIREFIGHTERS have issued a warning after dangerous fires were started on land near houses in Paignton.

Pictures of the scene show extensive damage caused to grassland and woods in Clennon Valley.
Several fires have been deliberately started in the past two weeks, according to locals.
The latest incident happened on Monday, May 19. Images show the earth scorched a short distance from houses and gardens.
Locals are angry that the actions of a brainless arsonist or a reckless group of people are putting their homes in danger. One said the latest blaze was the fifth in just two weeks. She said she spotted it just before midnight.
