Lessons in Chemistry wins library readers poll for best book
Herald Express
|June 04, 2025
LESSONS in Chemistry has been crowned the winner of the inaugural Libraries Unlimited book awards.
The award, organised by the charity that runs libraries across the county, launched last November with a shortlist of 20 of the most borrowed titles from Devon and Torbay's libraries.
Library users then cast their votes, with polling stations in the libraries and an online voting system.
Lessons in Chemistry, written by Bonnie Garmus, which deals with chemistry, cookery and feminism in the 1950s, struck a chord with Devon readers.
