Woman hit in face by thug

A woman was taken to hospital with injuries after she was repeatedly punched in the face by an attacker before her head was hit against a lamp post.

Cleveland Police are now appealing for witnesses to help them with their inquiries following the daylight assault in the Dyke House area of Hartlepool.
They say the the 41-year-old woman was walking along Raby Square towards Chatham Gardens at around 2.30pm on Friday, May 16, when she was approached by her attacker.
