SFA launch co-operative agreement to boost youngsters
Hamilton Advertiser
|June 12, 2025
Scottish FA chiefs have launched a new co-operative agreement between clubs that will develop young players at a key stage.
-
Under the plan, teams can form partnerships in a 'Co-operation Agreement' which means players who are eligible for the Scotland national team, and aged from 16 to 21, can move freely between them throughout the season.
The transfer window opens on June 16 and, from then, clubs with a Co-operative Agreement can move up to three players back and forward at any time, not restricted by transfer windows.
Clubs can have several of these on the go at one time-but no two players can be in the same division.
The SFA have also scrapped the Under-18 League and SPFL Reserve League, which will be replaced by a hybrid under-19 league this coming season.
