Huge early-hours blaze breaks out at restaurant
Hamilton Advertiser
|September 18, 2025
Firefighters scrambled to an early-hours blaze at a restaurant in Bothwell.
Crews raced to Cut Bothwell on Old Mill Road at 2.35am on Saturday. At the height of the fire, four fire engines were sent to the scene.
Firefighters eventually put the flames out at 10.20am. Management of the restaurant confirmed that the inferno managed to gut the main hall of the premises.
The restaurant, bar and kitchen areas, however, remained damage-free. The cause of the fire, or if it was wilful, is currently unknown.
A fire engine and a police car remained at the scene on Saturday afternoon.
