UAE remain grounded after thumping win over Guam

Captain Eisa Khalfan praised the UAE team for their collective effort in their 13-0 AFC U23 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026 qualifiers Group I victory against Guam on Wednesday.

The UAE were in rampant form against 10-man Guam, with Mayed Alkas netting a hat-trick and the Emiratis will aim to maintain their form when they face Hong Kong, China on Saturday.

"I thank our fans, who were our biggest supporters. Today, the team worked well and succeeded in achieving this great result," said Khalfan.

"We now have our second match against Hong Kong in which we hope to continue with the same spirit. We came to these qualifiers aiming to collect nine points and qualify for the finals."

Khalfan's sentiment was echoed by teammate Mansour Al Menhali, who stressed the importance of maintaining focus despite the convincing win.
