A meeting between prominent Sunni scholar Kanthapuram AP Aboobacker Musliyar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Monday has drawn national attention after the Muslim cleric formally invited the prime minister to attend the centenary celebrations of Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama, scheduled to be held in Kottakkal, Malappuram.
The invitation, extended during a detailed interaction at the prime minister’s official residence, relates to an international conference planned as part of the organisation's 100th anniversary observances. Sources indicated that the Prime Minister responded positively and is considering participation, a move that could lend significant national visibility to the landmark religious and social gathering in Kerala.
