MoHRE launches upgraded version of WPS

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) announced the launch of an upgraded version of the Wage Protection System (WPS), in collaboration with the UAE Central Bank, UnionPay (the Central Bank’s national payment institution) and a group of accredited financial institutions via their digital platforms.
This came under partnerships between the Ministry and Etisalat &, Botim, Al Ansari Exchange, Lulu Exchange, GCC Exchange, and Al Maryah Bank, as part of ongoing efforts to protect rights and promote ease of doing business by leveraging smart technology to enhance labour market transparency and competitiveness, digital transformation, and zero bureaucracy.
It is worth noting that the WPS covers more than 99% of private sector employees, whose wages are transferred by their employers through the system, totalling more than Dhs35 billion per month.
