Firms to be fined Dhs20,000 per employee for 3 violations

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has affirmed that it imposes administrative fines of Dhs20,000 per employee on establishments committing the following three violations, as per Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021: failure to employ an Emirati beneficiary of the UAE National Competitiveness Council’s Support Programme, If he does not join the workforce after the issuance of a work permit and the establishment has received support from the Council, and in case he fails to regularly attend work or is absent, and the establishment does not notify the Council.
MoHRE called on private sector companies with 50 or more employees to achieve Emiratisation targets for the first half of 2025, with a minimum growth rate of 1% in skilled jobs compared to their total skilled workforce, by June 30, 2025.
