Dhs152.240m fine for 161 people in visa fraud case

The Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Court issued a ruling fining 161 defendants a total of Dhs152,240,000 and ordering their deportation from the country.
The defendants had been convicted of illegally exploiting fake visas.
The Dubai Public Prosecution explained that Counsellor Ismail Bou Sherine, Head of the Naturalisation and Residency Prosecution, had investigated the case.
The investigation revealed that the defendants had issued work permits to companies that had closed in September 2024 and were exploiting these permits illegally to issue fake visas for Dhs1,000 each.
