Court orders man to pay Dhs30,000 to woman

The Abu Dhabi Family, Civil and Administrative Cases Court ruled that a man must pay a woman, a compensation of Dhs30,000 for moral and psychological damage, in addition to court fees and expenses.

The ruling follows a conviction for insult, humiliation, abuse and assault against the woman.

The case papers indicated that a woman had initiated legal proceedings against a man on the grounds of insult, humiliation, abuse, and assault.

She requested that the court obligate the defendant to pay her Dhs50,000 in compensation for material and moral damage, and to return her personal belongings, which were valued at Dhs40,000, on the grounds that the defendant had insulted, humiliated, abused and assaulted her.
