US drafts UN plan for 2-year international force in Gaza

The United States has circulated a draft resolution to several members of the UN Security Council, proposing the creation of an international security force in Gaza with a two-year mandate, Axios has reported.

The document marked "SENSITIVE BUT UNCLASSIFIED" lays out a sweeping framework that would grant the US and participating nations a broad mandate to govern Gaza and maintain security "through the end of 2027," with the option for extensions beyond that period.
