UAE plans Yoga Day events at 37 locations

JUNE 21 PROGRAMMES EXPECTED TO DRAW 30,000 PEOPLE

Over 35 iconic locations across the UAE, including Burj Khalifa, Dubai Frame and Expo Centre Sharjah, will host community yoga sessions to mark International Yoga Day on Saturday (June 21), a top official said yesterday.

Described as one of the largest yoga celebrations during the UAE's Year of Community, the events are expected to attract more than 30,000 participants, said Ahmad Ibrahim, President of the UAE Yoga Committee and Vice-Chairman of the Asian Yogasana Federation.

"As of Wednesday, we've confirmed 37 locations, and the number is still growing," said Ibrahim. "Yoga centres across the UAE are supporting us in holding sessions throughout the country."
