Real estate employee denied sales commission after quitting

I worked for a real estate company for two years. My salary was Dh500 plus a 40 per cent commission on unit sales. After I resigned, I asked for my commission and end-of-service gratuity. My employer refused, saying I hadn’t renewed my real estate broker licence in Dubai, which cancels my right to brokerage services. Can they legally deny me my commission?
It is true that, according to the ruling of the Dubai General Court of Cassation, if a mediation contract is ruled invalid, the unlicensed broker or intermediary may not claim compensation, remuneration, or reimbursement of expenses incurred in carrying out the assigned work.
