ISRAEL HOLDS CONSULTATIONS WITH SECURITY CHIEFS TO DISCUSS RESPONSE

- BY STEPHEN N R.

Israel, Hamas accuse each other of breaking truce

Members of the Al Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, stand at the site where they, along with Egyptian workers and machinery, are searching for the bodies of hostages in Nuseirat, Gaza Strip, yesterday.

Gaza's Government Media Office yesterday accused Israel of committing 125 ceasefire violations since the truce took effect on October 10, claiming 94 Palestinians have been killed.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, meanwhile, accused Hamas of a “clear violation” of the US-brokered deal after the group allegedly returned the remains of a hostage already recovered two years ago.
