'Double absence' rule for pre-exam period

Public schools will record one unexcused absence as two days until November 19

With the final exams of the first semester scheduled to begin on November 20, public schools across the UAE are enforcing a policy that counts student absences between November 10 and 19 as double in line with the Ministry of Education's attendance and absence guidelines.

Under this rule, one unexcused absence will be recorded as two days, which may affect a student's eligibility to meet academic success requirements.
