WALTHAM WINDMILL SAILS RESTORED

WALTHAM windmill is back to its magnificent best and will last another century say supporters.

The mill's preservation society say you can come and get your oats and flour from Easter after a successful project to restore the sails and milling mechanism.

The Baker Boys, brothers, Steven, Mark and David will be milling and selling by the end of the month.

The mill dates back to 1880 and the windmill will continue to dominate the skyline over North East Lincolnshire thanks to a grant of £132,120, from Historic England.

The preservation agency gets its money from Government and assesses which buildings are most at risk.

Thanks to former Waltham Parish Council clerk Maureen Stennett and Councillor Margaret Cracknell, of North East Lincolnshire Council, a bid for grant-aid was successful.
