Another hydrogen production facility planned in North Lincs

An RWE model of a hydrogen plant at the Lincolnshire Great Exhibition event - it is among the companies looking at hydrogen production development in northern Lincolnshire

ANOTHER hydrogen production plant is being planned in northern Lincolnshire.

Centrica Energy Storage have submitted an environmental impact screening request to North Lincolnshire Council for a 10MW facility.

The plant would be on land north of the A18, adjacent to Melton Ross Quarry and located between Barnetby-le-Wold and Kirmington. It would be used as the fuel source for the nearby kiln at Singleton Birch's adjacent quarry. The company is one of the UK's leading lime suppliers.

Hydrogen can be produced by splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen using electrolysis, passing an electric current through it.
